Woman burned in apartment gas explosion

9 April 2011, last updated at 10: 16 GMT has suffered a woman burns after a gas explosion in South London that partially destroyed block of flats.

The flames close, to crack the three storey block in Morton Wallington, about 0030 BST.

A second floor flat "considerable" damage, London fire said Brigade.

Five people fled the building before firefighters arrive. A woman with Burns was taken to the ambulance and their condition is unknown.

Firefighters cut off the gas and electricity to the building that stands out from the fenced-off,.

The cause of the explosion is examined.
