Three held after man shot

Police said the shooting Rooney Park of Kilkeel happened in the area on 2230 BST on Saturday.

The victim received a gunshot wound to the chest during a row between two groups of foreign nationals.

Three men, aged 26, 31 and 36 were arrested. Two are provided at Antrim police in question. The third suspect is in the hospital after he was shot during the incident in the leg.

SDLP leader Margaret Ritchie said that the small fishing village had shocked the shootings.

"Unfortunately, gun crime has completely ravage the possibility, entire families and communities."

DUP candidate for South down Jim Wells also condemned the killing.

"I have a house in Rooney Park and I residents about the incident speaking."
