Samsung gives Apple legal fire

The patent processes, stored in South Korea, Japan and Germany, cover violation of up to five patents, Samsung said in a statement.

Apple filed a lawsuit against Samsung last Friday for the infringement of his patents.

It is the latest patent dispute in an increasingly competitive industry.

Intesifies rivalry

"Samsung actively responds to the legal actions against us to protect of our intellectual property,", the statement said.

South Korea's Samsung is one of the fastest-growing smartphone makers in the telecommunications industry.

The Galaxy-series of smartphones and tablet computers, the Google Android operating system use, have emerged as the top competitors so far for Apple's iPhone and iPad.

Samsung is also one of Apple's main suppliers of components such as chips and LCDs.

The legal battle could mean for Samsung damage, as strong sales of Apple's iPhone and IOS additional revenue so the result of the two companies.
