It's good news for an American 1745: More cheer for the home fans as Ryan Palmer eagles the second to move two under. The same cannot be said for Korean Kim Kyung-Tae, who cards his third successive bogey at the seventh. His front-nine does makes not particularly pleasant reading at four over. Kim's playing partner is amateur Hideki Matsuyama and the teenager is having a right old jolly on the prestigious course. A birdie at the third means the Japanese is one - under for today and par level overall.
From Stewart A on Twitter: "My pick for a big charge today is Brandt Snedeker - tied for third in 2008 and seems to have a game that perfectly suits Augusta."

It's good news for an American 1729: Bubba Watson, whose long, flowing locks would be more at home on the heads of emo anti-heroes bullet for my Valentine or fall out boy (although the left-hander would probably baulk at the eyeliner, or "guyliner" as I recently learned), makes a sensational start with successively birdies on the second and third holes, taking his overall score to two-under overall. BBC Sport's Rob Hodgetts at Augusta: "BBC commentator Ken Brown has been on the course to see what has been going on overnight." He has been looking at the grass on the ninth fairway, it is now mown uphill so drives won't run as much. Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson hit monster drives there yesterday. On the ninth green Ken holed a huge putt from the back - it's all in a day's work. The gallery was very impressed. 'Geez, who is this guy?' says one onlooker. He also talked about three levels on the green. Today the pin is on the middle. ' Come up short and it might roll back, go long and it runs over. Must be pin-point accurate,' said Ken. The green slopes savagely back to front. 'How they almost are?' asks Ken. He kneels and blows on the ball. "It starts to roll, gathers pace and flies past the pin." It's good news for a Scotsman 1717: Excellent start for Scotland's Martin Laird, sinking a round opening birdie at the first, taking him to one - under overall and joint 20th while Aaron Baddeley continues his excellent form on the third birdie of the day front nine, scorching his at the sixth - only to squander his advantage at the seventh with a bogey on the par-four, 450-yard seventh. Ah. Jamie, Surrey, via text on 81111: "Got a good feeling today about Karlsson, sense a big move coming on for the big Swede" 1654: Baddeley holes his second birdie in three at the par four, 455-yard fifth, merrily scootling along to one under alongside American Nick Watney, who skims a shot off his total with a birdie at the par-five second. 1643: So far we have only seen one birdie this glorious morning in the Peach State, with Aaron Baddeley sinking a three at the par-four, 350-yard third. Ernie Els' magic touch has so far deserted him following a double-bogey five at the fourth. The South African is playing with a non-competitive marker, the golf's very own equivalent of the poor kid picked for footy in the playground. Ahhhhh. Text in your views on 81111 (UK) or +44 7786200666 (worldwide) Jez, Newcastle, via text on 81111: sadly I did put a few pennies on KAYMER, felt I had to after he won me £ 500 quid with his USPGA win. Got each way money on Immelman and Furyk both at 100 / 1. So please can we have a bias towards those two rather than this endless Tiger talk. "Much appreciated." 1618:ROUND THREE LEADERBOARD:
-10 McIlroy
-8 Day
-7 Choi, Woods
-6 Ogilvy, Quirós
-5 Yang, Barnes, couples, Fowler, Westwood
-4 Schwartzel, Donald, Furyk, Fisher, Snedeker, Garcia 1616: our lone amateur, Japan's Hideki Matsuyama, has just teed off alongside Korea's Kyung-Tae Kim. Other notable tee-off times to tell you about: Justin Rose (1625), Ian Poulter (1705), Phil Mickelson (1755), Paul Casey (1805), Sergio Garcia (1825), Luke Donald (1845), Lee Westwood (1855), Tiger Woods (1935) and Rory McIlory (1945). 1606:The cut at one over has been particularly brutal, taking out world number one Martin Kaymer, three-time major champion Padraig Harrington, defending US Open champion Graeme McDowell, Americans Stewart Cink and Anthony Kim as well as two-time US Open champion Retief Goosen. The South African's opening eagle on Thursday seems like a lifetime ago following his nightmare 78 on Friday. Augusta has not been kind to KAYMER, who misses the cut for the fourth successive occasion in Georgia. Meanwhile, Overton kicks off his round with a bogey five at the par four, 445-yard opener while Baddeley sinks his putt for par.
1557: The "Big Easy" kicks a steady par on the first off with while Jeff Overton and Aaron Baddeley hit the course. No. word as yet on any dastardly pin placements, but no doubt we'll find out more as the day progresses. Anyone had the agony of moving house recently? Found something you never thought you would ever see again? In particular a "wonky" putter or a tatty Jeffery Archer novel propping up a hidden cupboard? 1543: And what an auspicious day for moving day to fall upon - no, not the four-and-a-half mile horsey romp in the north-west of England at 1615 which some of you may have a vested interest in (my £ 2 dip into clearly fixed office sweep was 150-1 Piraya whose jockey "needed binoculars to see the winner" last year according to the daily) (E-mail), but the 54th birthday of two-time Masters champion Seve Ballesteros - also a wonderful opportunity to tout the glory of the Cantabrian's career achievements. Fortunately I did not put any pennies on Martin Kaymer for at inaugural green jacket. Any post-national, post-cut disaster stories to tell from any of you lot would be gratefully appreciated, although I hope there aren't too many to tell... 1530: Pack up the crowded House and Tanita Tikaram CDs, liberally toss the bubble wrap in between that bundle of used gig tickets and birthday cards you just can't throw away and finally cast aside those skinny-fit jeans you haven't been able to fit into since Phil Mickelson eased Tiger Woods into his fourth and last masters green jacket back in 2005 - it's moving day.
