Three arrested in 1969 teen death

15 April 2011 last updated at 22: 55 GMT Map of Lowell, Massachusetts police arrested three men in connection with the 1969 killing a 15-year-old boy in the U.S. State of Massachusetts, authorities said.

The body of John Joseph McCabe was discovered in an empty lot in the city of Lowell more than four decades ago.

McCabe was kidnapped after he attacked by three young people and links die a dance of asphyxiation, said Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone.

Prosecutors claim that the killing was prompted by jealousy over a girl.

McCabe's body found in the September 1969 with his eyes and mouth taped closed and arms bound by rope.

On Thursday took the police Walter Shelley, 60; Edward Allan Brown, 59; and Mr. Leone said Michael Ferreira, 57, who knew all McCabe at the time of the incident.

Mr Shelley has been with murder, and Mr Brown is a manslaughter charge.

Mr. Ferreira has accused of murder in a juvenile court was because he was a minor at the time of the alleged attack.

"The investigators in this case, as also the family of the victim, hope never gave, that those responsible for the murder of John McCabe for his death to justice would be considered," said Mr. Leone.
