M & S again after French market

The company said it one would open 15,000 square foot store on the Champs-Elysees in Paris this year.

M & S also said that it was a series of its simply food stores under franchise, in Paris talks with his partner SSP.

The retailer also plans to launch an international online service.

M & S all European stores closed in the year 2001 to focus on core UK business.

"Great brand awareness has marks and Spencer here France and a place in the heart of customers", said Marc Bolland, marks and Spencer's Chief Executive.

The new French store and website are expected to be before the period Christmas open.

Local knowledge

Analysts say it makes sense for the dealer, outside the difficult UK market search. Prevent retailers such as Dixons and Mothercare profit warnings issued cuts and rising inflation consumers this year as government expenditure.
